Hey there! My name is

Britton McGregor

I'm a lifestyle

storyteller

You might be curious about the mismatch between my last name, McGregor, and my business name, "Britton Fuglseth Design." Let me explain. I recently got married to the love of my life and took on a new last name, McGregor.

However, when I initially started my business, I was still known as Britton Fuglseth. While I was thrilled to embrace the McGregor name, a part of me felt a tinge of sadness knowing that I would no longer be a Fuglseth. It held a special significance as it was something my father bestowed upon me—a part of my identity.

To honor my family and the connection I had with the Fuglseth name, I made the decision to maintain my business name unchanged. By doing so, I aimed to preserve a piece of that identity that meant so much to me.

STORYTIME

To put it briefly, I am a passionate advocate for agriculture. I am a college graduate from the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and have a degree in Agricultural Education with an emphasis in natural resources and agricultural sciences. You might be wondering how I ended up in the photography field. Interestingly enough, it was all thanks to my high school agriculture teacher, which may not seem logical at first.

From a young age, I've always had a deep love for the arts. I vividly recall the time I secretly borrowed my family's camcorder to create YouTube videos and sneaked my sister's camera for taking selfies (a confession I've never made until now).

My journey truly began when I enrolled in a web design and video editing class during high school. It was during this time that I became captivated by the world of videography and its ability to tell compelling stories. Coincidentally, my agriculture teacher, Whitney, owned a photography business on the side. She hired me to assist her in shooting and producing wedding videos. This experience ultimately paved the way for my current path.

While it had always been a dream of mine, I never believed I could turn it into a reality. Then, one day, I came across a quote that resonated deeply within me: "Your dreams could change the world." Inspired by those words, I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue my dream, leading to the establishment of Britton Fuglseth Design. This endeavor is driven by my aspiration to make a positive impact on people's lives.

FAQ

Do you shoot destination weddings or elopements?

Yes, I offer both! This is something I have been dreaming about offering since I started but wanted to wait until after I finished college. Now that I am graduated, I can fully devote my time to BFD + look forward to offering these services!

What sets you apart from other creatives?

Being a photographer + videographer, I often come across the notion that the industry is oversaturated, making it challenging to distinguish oneself. However, I wholeheartedly disagree. Every creative individual is unique in their own right. Personally, what sets me apart is my unwavering enthusiasm to take bold risks and embrace a fearless approach to life. Oh, and let's not forget that my personality adds an extra touch of humor to the mix.

How would you describe your photographic style?

When I shoot, I focus on real, genuine moments rather than posed and proper. I would describe my style as filmy, earthy, and raw.

What should I wear to my photoshoot?

My first rule of fashion for photoshoots is to wear something that reflects you. These pictures are yours and should remain YOU and your personality. Colors that go well with my editing style are neutral colors and avoiding reds and oranges.
